I’m Nicole, a neurodivergent film and television director drawn to bold, distinct storytelling. My work has been recognised internationally: my short film WanderLand was longlisted for the 2023 BAFTA Short Film, and I’m currently developing it into my debut feature, Like Mother, with Mordecai Films, led by BIFA Springboard producer Margot Douglas.
My wider feature slate includes projects in development such as The Fawn, selected to pitch at the 2024 PFM Film London New Talent Strand, alongside early development on Progeny and Rotten Luck.
Through the DirectorsUK Inspire Scheme (2024–2025), I was mentored by Jim Loach and shadowed him on Sky Drama’s Lockerbie: A Search for Truth. I am also currently being mentored by Paul Walker (Riviera, The Ex-Wife), with a specific focus on episodic television directing, and I’m now moving into high-end television drama. My work sits within bold, character-led spaces, with a sensibility that can speak to both adult and younger audiences without being defined by either.
Alongside my directing work, my background in production management gives me a clear understanding of how to deliver ambitious creative within tight budgets and schedules. My first commercial, for Prostate Cancer UK, aired in 2024, and I’m keen to continue directing in the commercial space.
Alongside directing, I also write fiction. Under the pen name Charlotte Bedgood, my debut novel The Dawn of the Lightning Goddess and its sequel The Insurgence of The Cursed Prince explore my love of fantasy.
